How To Place a Hold Online

Step 1: Log into Your Account

Start by going to On the right side of the page, you will see a place to enter your Login and your Password. Your Login is your library card number, which can be found on the front of your card under the barcode. Your Password is your last name in all lowercase letters. Once you have entered your information, click the Login button to access your account.

Step 2: Search for a Book

Next, using the Search box at the top of the page, search for an item you would like to reserve.

When locating an item, make sure that it is available at Benson Memorial Library. If the item is located at another library in Crawford County you will have to go to that library to pick it up. The items will not be delivered to Benson.

Once you have found what you are looking for, click on Place Hold.

Step 3: Place Hold

You will next see the confirmation page for your hold. Click the Confirm Holds to finish the process and submit your request.

Step 4: Wait for Phone Call with Appointment Time!

Once your hold has been filled, you will receive a phone call to set up a time for you to pick up the item(s). The library will keep items on hold for you for three business days after a no-show appointment before reshelving or loaning to the next patron on hold.

If you are unable to make your assigned appointment time, please call to reschedule!

If you want to check on the status of your hold, you can do so by visiting your Account page and clicking on Holds.

If you have any questions, please call us at 814-827-2913 during our limited hours. You can also place holds over the phone!
